Calmes dominant but Patriots find a way to eliminate Eutectics

SPRINGFIELD, MO – Tristan Calmes was dominant until the weather delayed things in an AMC Tournament elimination game between UHSP and Mission. It was a scoreless game in the seventh when rain halted the action. Following the delay, Calmes came back out and saw the Patriots score two in the eighth as Mission went on for a 2-0 win. Jude Tenny went seven strong innings for Mission allowing just three hits with seven strikeouts into the rain delay.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

2-MISSION 2, 5-UHSP 0

  • The two runs in the eighth inning for Mission were scored as the first two batters reached on walks and eventually scored on consecutive wild pitches.
  • Tristan Calmes took the loss (5-5) as he went the distance giving up two runs on four hits. He struck out nine and walked four.
  • Garrett Hunter went the final two innings to get the win. He did not allow a hit and struck out two.
  • Joe Celeste went 2-for-2 while Brandon Gibbs had the other hit for UHSP.

The Eutectics (21-22, 12-9 AMC) finish out the season going 0-2 in the AMC Postseason Tournament and end the year on a three-game losing streak.
