Lam is Runner-up at Frosty Faustings
LOMBARD, ILL. – Minh Lam represented the UHSP Esports team at the Frosty Faustings XVIII 2026 Tournament, held Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in Lombard, Ill., bringing a second-place medal home from the event, which included 4,431 attendees.
Lam competed in four different titles as an individual, with his top finish as runner-up in Dragonball Fighter Z, beating out 82 other competitors. He finished in the top 10% for both Guilty Gear Strive (65th of 663) and Street Fighter 6 (49th of 656), while also finishing a respectable 129th of 874 entrants in 2XKO at the tournament.
It was the first time UHSP has entered an athlete at Frosty Faustings, but Lam's high-level abilities were on full display at the event – even beating a few sponsored players.
The freshman from San Marcos, Calif., also found success last semester, winning Guilty Gear and finishing fifth in Street Fighter 6 at the CFGC competitions in his first collegiate outings.
The UHSP Esports teams performed well in various titles and conferences last semester. Brianna Chong won her TeamFight Tactics (TFT) ECAC's bracket and the League of Legends team won the MEC and finished as runner-up in the NECC and Fall CLOL. UHSP Rocket League won their NECC bracket, Smash Bros finished third, and Valorant took fourth in their respective NECC brackets. Marvel Rivals finished in third place in the ECAC.
The Eutectic Esports teams have just begun their spring competition season and are looking to continue to build on their previous successes.
