Bushue paces the Eutectics in the WWU Invitational
FULTON, MO – Brett Bushue turned in the best round for the Eutectics at the William Woods Fall Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course as he led UHSP with a two-day total of 151. The Eutectics as a team finished 14th out of the 16 clubs finishing one stroke ahead of Central Methodist and well ahead of last place Westminster. The host club won the tournament finishing with a 21-stroke cushion over their nearest chasers, Missouri Valley.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Bushue was only five shots off the lead after round one with an opening day total of 73. He had a pair of birdies and three bogeys on day one. Bushue was not too far off of his opening round score on day two as he shot a 78 to finish in a six-way tie for 48th place.
- Will Turner tied for 69th place with Atticus Brandes of Central Methodist. His lone birdie came on the par-3, 165-yard 8th hole on day two. He had nine pars in round one and 13 pars in round two. He ended the tournament at +14 with a 158.
- Connor Kosola bested teammate Gavin Barbee by two strokes. Kosolo finished tied for 73rd, Barbee was 76th. Kosola took nine strokes off his day-one total of 85 on day two as he carded a 76. He finished the tournament with a highlight 18th hole, a 422-yard par-four. He birdied the hole to end his stay after he double-bogeyed the same hole on day one. Kosola was even at the turn on day two as he was only four-over for the round. Barbee, meanwhile, had three birdies over the tournament. He shot a 78 (+6) on day one, but an 85 (+13) on day two.
- Cooper Thomas was part of a five-way tie for 77th. After a rocky opening round, Thomas settled down on day two. He parred half the holes on the first day, but finished with an 87 (+15). He was only 5-over on day two with a 77 as he offered five bogeys, but parred the rest.
- Gunner Mahurin was 88th as he shot 95 on day one and 110 on day two. He finished the tournament with three pars.
- John A. Logan's Parker Renken won the tournament finishing 10-under-par. He went 69-65 for a two-day score of 134. Chad Coburn (Missouri Valley) and Spencer Worley (William Woods) tied for second, one stroke behind Renken.
