UHSP Men are Ninth at CMU Spring Invitational

BOONVILLE, MO. – The Eutectic men's golf team spent Monday and Tuesday competing at Hail Ridge Golf Course in the Central Methodist Spring Invitational. The UHSP squad finished ninth of 11 teams entered in the men's competition with a two-round score of 624 (314-310). Host Central Methodist University finished just ahead of UHSP at 613, while #28-ranked William Woods University won the event with a score of 563 (-5).

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Every single team entered in the invitational improved their score on Day 2, and the Eutectics were no exception. The Eutectics finished Round 1 with a score of 314 (+30) and improved to 310 (+26) in Round 2.
  • Brett Bushue paced the Eutectics, finishing tied for 29th of 65 golfers at eight strokes over par for two rounds. He followed up his Day 1 score of 76 with a 74 on Day 2, including two birdies on the back nine. Bushue was just one over par on the front nine both days.
  • Will Turner finished tied for 36th at +11, shooting 77 in Round 1 and 76 in Round 2, including five birdies.
  • Connor Kosola was the third Eutectic in the final rankings, finishing tied for 39th at +26. He shot a 78 in Round 1 with two birdies and improved to 76 in Round 2.
  • Alex Chandler rounded out the Eutectic scoring with a 59th-place finish. He shot a 168 (83 – 85).
  • Cooper Thomas and Gunner Mahurin also competed for the Eutectics.

The Eutectics will travel to Fulton, Mo., next week to compete in the William Woods Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 30 & 31.
