Owls blank Eutectics in men's soccer

FULTON, MO – William Woods scored six goals from six different goal scorers as the Owls shutout the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday night, 6-0. The Owls beat the Eutectics for the fourth consecutive time.

Charlie Williams opened the scoring for WWU in the 16th minute. Just short of ten minutes later, the Owls got another shot past UHSP netminder Wyatt Taylor as David Fink scored unassisted to make it 2-0. After a scoreless remainder of the half, Lubos Polacko scored not quite four minutes into the second half off an assist from Britton Purewal as the Owls went up 3-0. Then Omar Murillo and Benjamin Lachaize scored 2:40 apart to build the lead to 5-0. William Woods capped the scoring as Anthony Lint assisted on a goal by Mattia Di Sabatino in the 79th minute to finish out the 6-0 win.

Offense was difficult to come by for the visitors as they had only a pair of shots in the first half and got outshot 30-7 overall, 17-3 in shots on goal. Wyatt Taylor made ten saves in net for the Eutectics while Wil Rieves made saves on all three shots he faced for the Owls.

There are two games left in the regular season for the Eutectics (1-12, 1-5 AMC) and they finish out that season this coming week. They will play host to Harris-Stowe (5-6-5, 3-3-1 AMC) at 10:00am on Tuesday at St. Louis University High before their season finale on Saturday against Missouri Baptist.
