Morales claims opening week AMC award

ST. LOUIS, MO - Following a season opening 1-0 loss to Evangel, UHSP netminder Christian Morales was named the American Midwest Conference's Defender of the Week for the first week of the collegiate soccer season.

Morales claimed the award after making seven saves against the Valor following a quick goal in the game's opening minute. The 1-0 loss to Evangel was the best showing against the Valor that UHSP has had in the three year history of playing the group from Springfield. Evangel had previously beaten the Eutectics by scores of 5-0 and 6-0.

Morales is the third Eutectic to be named Defender of the Week by the AMC.
