AMC opener sees Central Baptist hold off Eutectics

CONWAY, AR – Central Baptist sent the Eutectics to a ninth consecutive defeat as the Mustangs  (1-4-1, 1-0 AMC) took the American Midwest Conference opener by a score of 2-0. UHSP has now been blanked in their last three contests.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

CENTRAL BAPTIST 2, UHSP 0

  • Clay Glomski and Jared Nunes were the two goal scorers for CBC as Glomski scored ten minutes into the contest and Nunes scored with five minutes left in the game. Glomski's goal came on the first shot of the game.
  • Central Baptist had 19 shots while UHSP had three.
  • Jasper Gadellaa (1-4-1) picked up the win between the pipes for Central Baptist. He was able to turn aside the only two shots he faced.
  • Christian Morales (1-11) suffered the loss in net for UHSP turning aside seven shots, but allowing the two goals.
  • Fouls were even in the contest at eight apiece, but UHSP was issued five yellow cards in the match.
  • UHSP fell to 0-10-1 all-time against Central Baptist.

The Columbia Cougars (4-4-2, 0-0 AMC) are up next for the Eutectics (1-11, 0-1 AMC) at 2:30p next Saturday in Columbia. The Cougars have won back-to-back following a 1-4-2 stretch in which they faced six clubs either ranked or receiving votes in the national poll.
