Hoover Named Attacker of the Week for Heart of America Athletic Conference
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced UHSP outside hitter Grant Hoover as the Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week, presented by Mammoth.
Hoover averaged 5.50 Kills/Set at .347 attacking percentage, recording over 20 kills per match over three matches this week where the Eutectics went 2-1. He led the Eutectics in the team's five-set upset over No.7-ranked Mount Mercy University, racking up 24 kills – just one short the school record he shares with alumnus Marcus Parker. As Eutectic captain, he never left the court for the team's 12 sets played over the week, adding 26 digs, 11 blocks, 84 receptions, and 2 aces to his tally.
This is Hoover's second Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor, having earned Attacker of the Week in March of last season. He is one of three Eutectic men's volleyball players ever to receive the honor, including teammate Xavier Gamayo (Defender, 2024) and alumnus Cole Cwiklowski (Setter, 2024).
Hoover and the Eutectics will be back in action on Tuesday, Mar. 11, when they host a Conference matchup with Culver-Stockton College at 7 p.m.
