Tyse and Hill Receive AMC Honors

The American Midwest Conference (AMC) announced Leroy "Carlos" Tyse has been named to the 2022-23 AMC Wrestling Champions of Character Team. Tyse and teammate Davion Hill (SR/Baldwin, Mo.) were both named to the AMC Academic All-Conference Team for the 2022-23 season of Men's Wrestling.

Tyse, who made history this inaugural wrestling season with the first Eutectic wrestling individual victory, is one of six individuals from the six Conference schools selected for the Champions of Character Team. The Champions of Character initiative ensures that student-athletes know, do and value the right things in all areas of life. The five core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership are put into play, accounted for, and tracked at all NAIA schools. Players selected for the Champions of Character team are student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding character.

Tyse and Hill are among 21 men's wrestlers in the Conference who earned AMC Academic All-Conference honors. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (or better) after at least one semester of enrollment at the institution. As members of the inaugural UHSP men's wrestling team, Tyse and Hill have the distinction of becoming the first wrestlers in Eutectic history to qualify for and earn the award.
