Eutectics Compete at Niketown XC Twilight
TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Members of the UHSP men's and women's cross country teams competed under the lights on Friday night, Oct. 3, at the Niketown XC Twilight meet in Terre Haute, Ind. The two-day meet, hosted by Indiana State University, consists of 18 different cross country races on Friday and Saturday, including both high school and collegiate levels, in the evening hours on both days. The Eutectics competed in the Men's 8000m and Women's 6000m races on Friday night at 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
With only three individuals competing for each Eutectic team, UHSP did not score as a team for either the men or women.
Jack Wolfe led the UHSP men with a personal-best time of 30:28 for the 8k men's race, finishing 74th of 100 runners. Elliott Perry and Amari Wiedemeier also competed for the Eutectic men.
Ellie Creasey led the women's team with a personal record of 28:14 for the women's 6K race, finishing 47th of 76 competitors. Layla Aguilar and Charlie Dunakcik also competed for the UHSP women.
The Eutectics will take the next two weekends off from competition before hosting the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Willmore Park in St. Louis.
