Nation and Wolfe lead Eutectics at Greenville Classic
GREENVILLE, ILL. – Members of the Eutectic men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Greenville University Cross Country Classic in Greenville, Ill., on Friday evening. With fewer than five runners competing in each race, the Eutectics did not score as a team in either the men's or women's races.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
Men
- All three competing Eutectics in the men's race at 4:15 p.m. ran personal-best times on the flat and fast 8K course.
- Jack Wolfe led the UHSP runners with a time o 29:01, beating his previous PR by nearly one-and-a-half minutes. He finished 28th of 92 runners.
- Newcomers Amari Wiedemeier and Elliott Perry also ran PRs, finishing in 64th and 66th places, respectively.
Women
- Four individual women competed for the Eutectics in the 5K race at 5 p.m.
- The Eutectics were led by freshman Hannah Nation, who finished in 17th place of 71 runners with a time of 20:54 – just missing her personal best by eight seconds.
- As the second UHSP runner, Ellie Creasey did break her PR with a time of 21:52 for 26th place.
- Karlea Frey and Charlie Dunajcik also competed for the Eutectics.
NEXT UP:
The Eutectics will next play host at their annual home meet on Oct. 25th: the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic in Willmore Park. High school and collegiate level races will take place at the home event.
