Men Take Second, Women Finish Fifth at AMC Championships

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The Eutectic men's cross country team earned its highest ever finish in history, taking second place at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships on Thursday in Willmore Park. It was the first time since 2020 that the championship meet has been raced in St. Louis and hosted by UHSP. The Eutectic women finished fifth in the meet.

Ellie Creasey and Amari Wiedemeier were named to the AMC Champions of Character team, which honors one athlete per Conference team who best exemplifies the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character Initiative: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.  

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

UHSP Men, 2nd of 5

  • The UHSP second-place finish is the highest AMC finish in Eutectic program history. The Eutectic men earned their first team score of the season, with six individuals competing for UHSP.
  • Columbia College swept the top 11 finishes, scoring a perfect 15 to qualify for the NAIA national championships.
  • The Eutectics won the battle for second place with 75 points, beating out the third-place team, Hannibal-LaGrange University, by nine points. Crowley's Ridge College (90) and Williams Baptist University (101) followed behind.
  • Jack Wolfe led the Eutectics, narrowly missing a national qualification with 16th place overall (of 39). He finished the 8K with a time of 29:55 and, after two seasons of competition, completes his UHSP career as the eighth-fastest Eutectic in school history at the 8K distance.
  • Freshmen Perry Elliott and Amari Wiedemeier finished in 18th and 19th place, with times of 31:52 and 32:19, respectively.
  • Jared Morales was the fourth Eutectic to score, finishing 28th at 37:46.
  • Running their first-ever collegiate cross country races, Kristofer St. Clair and Ethan Arnoldi rounded out the Eutectic squad, with St. Clair as the final scoring member of the team in 33rd place.

UHSP Women, 5th of 5

  • The Eutectic women finished just one point behind fourth-place team Hannibal-LaGrange (107) and five points behind third-place Williams Baptist (103), tallying 108 points.   
  • The Cougars from Columbia College won the women's race with 23 points, accounting for six of the top-10 individual times.
  • Running her first collegiate race at the 6K distance, Hannah Nation finished just out of medal range in 13th place with a time of 25:43. She completes her freshman season as a two-time AMC Runner of the Week awardee and the 8th-fastest woman in Eutectic program history for the 5K distance.  
  • As UHSP's second runner to cross the finish line, Ellie Creasey just missed a personal record for 6K with her time of 28:17. She finished 18th overall.  
  • Whitney Auguste also ran her first-ever collegiate 6K, finishing as the third Eutectic at 31:12 in 27th place.
  • Layla Aguilar and Karlea Frey rounded out the scoring for UHSP, finishing in 29th and 32nd place with times of 32:44 and 34:17, respectively.
  • Charlie Dunajcik and Sage Williamson also competed for the UHSP team.

The Conference meet closes the 2025 Eutectic season. Many of the cross country athletes will soon begin training for the Indoor Track and Field season kicking off in December.
