Near perfection lands Roper as AMC Player of the Week
ST. LOUIS, MO - Monday afternoon, UHSP's Hallie Roper became just the second Eutectic to ever receive softball Player of the Week recognition from the American Midwest Conference. The conference announced that Roper was the top player in the AMC for the week of Mar. 10-16.
UHSP had more rainouts than games played during the counting period, but Roper made the most of her opportunity against Harris-Stowe. The Eutectic third basemen went 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the first that lit the flame for a 15-run inning against the Hornets. But it was her encore performance that was the most notable that day. She went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and drove in six in a rout of HSSU. She drove in four of those runs in the first inning in three different at bats. For the week, Roper was 6-for-7 four runs scored and eight runs batted in.
Roper joins Emma Henley as the only Eutectics to ever receive a weekly award from the conference. Henley was named Pitcher of the Week for Apr. 10-16, 2023.
Along with Roper on Monday, Missouri Baptist's Taylor Whitehead was named the AMC's Pitcher of the Week.
