Sullivan and Ready both finish in the top-10 at Missouri Valley
MARSHALL, MO – Addison Sullivan secured a third-place finish and landed a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the Missouri Valley Fall Invitational carding a three-round total of 240, 11 strokes off the lead. That effort coupled with another top-10 performance from UHSP sophomore Harper Ready helped the Eutectics to a fifth place finish out of the seven teams in the field.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Sullivan had a pair of birdies in round one as she was even over the back-nine birdieing 13 and 18. Round two got off to a rough start for Sullivan as she bogeyed the first three holes. She finished ten over for the round while not recording a birdie in the round. In round three, she birdied the 333-yard par-4 second, a hole she bogeyed in the prior two rounds. She followed that up with a birdie on the par-3 fourth and finished even at the turn. An 8-over on the back nine gave her an 80 on the day.
- Harper Ready saved her best for last. After an opening round 91 followed by an 88 in round two, Ready was birdie-free heading to the final round. She shaved five strokes off her best score to that point and birdied the par-3 12th hole in her final round. Ready was tied for 16th overall after the completion of round two and her final round 83 moved her up eight spots as she finished eighth overall in her first collegiate event as a Eutectic.
- Zoe Lopez tied Madison Mills of Missouri Valley for 24th overall. Lopez carded two birdies over the course of the tournament with her second-round score of 91 being her best of the tournament.
- Grace Wilkinson also had a tournament-best score of 91 in her final round. Wilkinson scored one birdie in each round. She was 30th overall after two rounds and ended moved up four spots on the final day, ending up in 26th place.
- Gabriana Franco of William Penn on the tournament with a 13-over 229. She finished six strokes in front of Missouri Valley's Hanna Rieker who finished second and had a three-round total of 235.
- William Penn won the team title with a 999 (+135), 25 strokes ahead of their nearest chasers. The next three teams were separated by 26 strokes as Missouri Valley was second (+160), William Woods was third (+174) and Central Methodist was fourth (+186). UHSP was comfortably in fifth at 1071 (+207) while Missouri Baptist finished sixth, but were well behind the Eutectics at 1149 (+285). North Central rounded out the field with a 1237 (+373).
UP NEXT:
The Eutectics head west again at the end of the month when they head to Fulton, MO for the William Woods Fall Invitational on September 29-30. UHSP will have three fall tournament following that in the month of October.
