Eutectic Women are Runner-Up at Eagle Knoll Open
HARTSBURG, MO. – The Eutectic women's golf team finished one stroke behind the winner, John A. Logan College (Ill.), at the Eagle Knoll Open hosted by William Woods University on Monday and Tuesday. The event included 37 individual players and five complete teams. The UHSP team was led by Harper Ready, who shot one over par on the back nine on Tuesday, moving up two spots on the leaderboard with a 79 for the day to finish tied for second place overall. Despite the rainy weather, the Eutectic team score of +118 was just two shots behind their season-best performance at the William Woods Fall Invitational at Tanglewood GC on Sept. 29-30.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Harper Ready followed up her score of 81 on Day 1 with a 79 on Day 2 for her best performance (+16) and her first runner-up finish so far this season. She was just two strokes behind event winner Divya Gunasegar from Lincoln University (Mo.).
- Ella Penke shot an 83 on Monday and came back on Tuesday to shoot an 80 and finish tied for fourth place with a total of 163 (+19).
- Addison Sullivan finished tied for eighth place with a total of 169 for the two rounds.
- Zoe Lopez was the final scorer for the Eutectics, finishing 23rd at 202.
- All four Eutectic players improved their position on the leaderboard after Day 2 to jockey their way past host William Woods, who finished behind UHSP in third by three strokes.

The Eagle Knoll Open was the last competition on the fall schedule for the Eutectic squad. They will return to action this spring with the season culminating at the American Midwest Conference tournament in April.
