Eutectic Women Are Runners-Up at MBU Spring Classic

ALTON, ILL. – The Eutectic women's golf team finished the Missouri Baptist University Spring Classic on Tuesday in second place of four scoring teams at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course.

TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The Eutectics turned in a team score of +69 on Day 1, then returned on Day 2 to improve by nine strokes and finish at +129 for the tournament. Lincoln University (Mo.) won the event with a two-day score of +38. The UHSP team beat third-place John A Logan by seven strokes and fourth-place host Missouri Baptist by 47 strokes.
  • Addison Sullivan led the Eutectics on Day 1, tallying three birdies for a score of +8 (80) to finish the day tied for second place. Harper Ready was close behind at +13, while Ella Penke (+19) and Zoe Lopez (+29) rounded out the scoring for UHSP.
  • On Day 2, Penke moved up two places to lead the UHSP team with a +12. Sullivan was +14, Ready was +15, and Lopez was +19.
  • Sullivan finished the event as the Eutectic top scorer, receiving a fourth-place medal of 26 golfers with a total score of +22 for the two rounds.
  • Ready moved up a spot on the leaderboard after Day 2 to finish tied for sixth at +28. Penke was tied for 10th at +31 and Lopez finished 19th at +48.

The Eutectics will take a week off from competition before the American Midwest Conference championships scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, April 27-28, in Melbourne, Ark.
