Eutectics dominate offensively in blanking Mount Mary
ST. LOUIS, MO – The Eutectics introduced a program to NAIA play by pitching a 3-0 shutout against Milwaukee (WI) program, Mount Mary on Sunday afternoon. UHSP had three different goal scorers as they improved to 2-0 on the young season. Izzy Rogers had a goal and an assist in the win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
UHSP 3, MOUNT MARY 0
- It took just 3:22 for UHSP to get on the board as Hannah Tyree found the back of the net off a feed from Rogers.
- Alexa Hildebrand was at it nearly 27 minutes later when she assisted on a Bailey Colianno goal. It was Colianno's first goal of the season and Hildebrand's second assist of the season already.
- Rogers made it 3-0 with a tap-in goal after Lyla Stegmann did a beautiful job setting up Rogers. Stegmann took a lead pass over the midfield line and outran a defender all the way to the left corner of the 6-yard box. Stegmann laid a pass across the face of the cage away from Blue Angels keeper Anna Corpas Salcedo for Rogers who had the easy goal.
- Corpas Salcedo saved a penalty shot by Sarah Agnew with 15 minutes remaining. Rogers was on a breakaway and pushed to the ground just into the penalty area setting up the opportunity for Agnew.
- Dani Nether (2-0) had an easy day in net as she did not face a shot on goal all game.
- Corpas Salcedo (0-1) allowed the three goals while making 12 saves in the cage for Mount Mary.
- UHSP outshot the Blue Angels, 31-1.
- The Eutectics have unloaded 66 shots over their first two games of the season.
- Mount Mary was playing their first-ever game as a member of the NAIA. Last season, the Blue Angels were playing in Division III.

The Eutectics (2-0) will play their third game in five days on Tuesday when they are back at home to host Blackburn. The game will take place at St. Louis University High with a kickoff slated for 7:30p. While it will be the third game of the season for the Eutectics, the game will be the 2025 lid-lifter for Blackburn.
