A day of firsts as UHSP wins first road game of the season

HENDERSON, TN – UHSP turned in a historic day on Saturday. The Eutectics claimed their first-ever win over Freed-Hardeman while securing their best start in program history as a 4-2 win over the Lions sent the Euts to a 4-0 mark to begin 2025. Their previous best start was a 3-0 record to open the 2020 season. Izzy Rogers had a pair of first-half goals against FHU and Dani Nether made it stand up in goal as the Eutectics prevailed.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

UHSP 4, FREED-HARDEMAN 2

  • Rogers scored a pair of goals 4:09 apart in the first half to give UHSP an early 2-0 lead.
  • Isabel Croke registered both goals for Freed-Hardeman, but the Lions were playing catch-up all game long.
  • Alexa Hildebrand scored her third of the season and made it 3-1 UHSP just 7:34 into the second half off a feed from Rogers.
  • Bayleigh Colianno recorded her second goal of the year, an unassisted finish in the 67th minute to make it a 4-1 game.
  • After an eight goal rookie season, Rogers already has seven goals this year for the Purple and Gold. She surpassed Katlyn Akers for third on UHSP's all-time career scoring list with now 15 goals. Rogers (2024) and Akers (2022) are both currently tied for third all-time with eight goals in a single-season. Rogers' seven this year tie her with Jordyn Besserman (2020) for fifth on that single-season scoring list with seven. Besserman holds the all-time UHSP record along with Christina Arackal with ten.
  • Nether made five saves in goal for UHSP picking up the win.
  • Ava Pierce made four saves, but yielded four goals in the cage for FHU.
  • UHSP improves to 1-7-0 all-time against Freed-Hardeman. It is a series that dates back to 2014 with a 4-2 Lions' win being the closest UHSP had gotten in the seven previous meetings.
