Washington Named AMC Field Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced Taylor Washington as the recipient of this week's Field Athlete of the Week for women's track and field.

Washington picked up two top-10 finishes at the Greenville Select meet in Greenville, Ill., on Saturday. She finished sixth of 19 athletes competing in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 16.05 seconds. In the High Jump, she leapt 1.43m (4'8.25") to finish in ninth place of 15 jumpers.

With just about two weeks until the AMC Outdoor Championships, Washington currently holds the second-fastest time in the 100 hurdles at 15.73 and leads the Conference in the high jump, tied with teammate Arianna Buduan, with a height of 1.51m (4'11.5"). She holds the school record in both events.

It is Washington's first Athlete of the Week honor for the 2024-25 season. She has racked up a total of nine such Athlete of the Week honors in her three seasons as a Eutectic so far, along with two Conference Champion titles and five All-Conference honors.

Washington and the Eutectic team will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to Rolla, Mo., to compete at the Dewey Allgood Invitational hosted by Missouri University of Science and Technology.
