Macon-Ford and Halley Named AMC Athletes of the Week
ST. LOUIS, MO. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of April 6-12, including a UHSP sweep of the awards for Women's Track & Field. Eutectic sprinter Leah Macon-Ford was named Track Athlete of the Week and thrower Reece Halley earned the title of Field Athlete of the Week.
LEAH MACON-FORD – AMC Track Athlete of the Week
- Macon-Ford won the 100m and 200m dashes at the Greenville Select Meet on Saturday, breaking the UHSP program record in both events.
- Her 100m time of 11.83 was also a meet record and a qualifying time for the NAIA Outdoor Championships held in Asheville, N.C., May 20-22.
- Macon-Ford, the 2025 AMC Champion in the 100 and 200, currently leads the Conference performance lists for both events.
- She also ran the anchor leg of the UHSP 4x100m relay team, which finished seventh.
- This is Macon-Ford's fifth Track Athlete of the Week award for the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor seasons.
REECE HALLEY – AMC Field Athlete of the Week
- Halley beat out 30 other discus throwers to win the event at the Greenville Select Meet.
- Her winning mark of 38.40m (126'0") is a new personal best and ranks second on the Conference performance list and puts her as second in the Eutectic All-Time list.
- Halley also recorded an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 9.83m (21'3") and 13th in the javelin throw at 27.08m (88'10").
- It is Halley's first AMC Athlete of the Week award.
