Macon-Ford Set to Compete at Nationals

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UHSP sprinting phenom Leah Macon-Ford is set to compete at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 21, at the Karl Straus Track in Asheville, N.C.

Macon-Ford enters the national championships with the 18th-fastest time in the 100m dash at 11.76 seconds. The event is scheduled for 2:20 PM on Thursday with Macon-Ford assigned to Lane 8 in the first of three heats for the event. The top two finishers in each heat, plus the next two fastest times, will advance to the finals on Friday, May 22, at 3:55 PM.

This is sophomore Macon-Ford's fourth trip to the NAIA national championships, having qualified and competed at 2026 indoor nationals in March, and both the indoor and outdoor championships as a freshman in 2025. Last season, she finished 18th in the 100m dash at the outdoor championships with a time of 12.10.

Even with only two seasons at UHSP, Macon-Ford is the most decorated athlete in Eutectic women's track and field history. Her list of accolades includes: 2x UHSP Women's Athlete of the Year, 8x American Midwest Conference champion, 4x NAIA National Qualifier, and current UHSP record-holder in 10 events.
