Harris-Stowe has just enough to edge Eutectics in tight AMC match

ST. LOUIS, MO – UHSP fell short in a tight five-set battle against Harris-Stowe on Wednesday night to close out the season series, falling 24-26, 25-20, 17-25, 25-20, 15-9. The Eutectics were trying to avenge a five-set loss to the Hornets back on October 7.

• The Eutectics opened strong, taking the first set 26–24 behind key kills from Tera Schumacher and Hannah Kynaston.
• Harris-Stowe answered in the second, evening the match with a 25–20 win before UHSP bounced back in set three 25–17.
• The Hornets rallied late, claiming sets four and five to secure the 3–2 victory. In the fifth, UHSP recorded five kills but had four hitting errors. Harris-Stowe went for eight kills without a hitting error in the deciding set.
• Schumacher led the Eutectics with 16 kills, while Kynaston added eight and Sophia Michaud chipped in eight more.
• Kyla McReynolds led the Hornets offense with a dozen kills and added 11 digs.
• Setter Jenna Brinson tallied 36 assists and added 12 digs in a strong all-around performance.
• Defensively, MaKenzie Uribe anchored the back row with a team-high 19 digs, while UHSP combined for 16 block assists.
• From the service line, Uribe led the way with five aces as UHSP recorded ten total in the match. HSSU had six. 

NEXT UP:
The Eutectics (7-25, 6-10 AMC) head to Columbia, Missouri on Saturday for a doubleheader against Central Baptist (8-21, 7-8 AMC) and Stephens (22-11, 14-1 AMC) beginning at 11:00a. The doubleheader will cap off the regular season for UHSP before they head to the AMC Tournament.
