Hannah Nation Named AMC Runner of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Freshman Hannah Nation has been named the first American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week presented by AMCOnTheGo for the 2025 season. The award was announced Monday, Sept. 1. Nation was selected from all 10 women's cross country teams in the Conference who competed Aug. 25-31.

In her first collegiate cross country race, Nation ran 20:46 for the women's 5K distance at the Redhawk Invite hosted by Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Friday evening. The time notches her as the eighth-fastest Eutectic women's 5K runner in history. It was good enough for 70th place at the meet, which included seven NCAA Division I teams.

Head Cross Country Coach Tim Cary said he was really excited with how well Nation and the UHSP team performed.

"To open your college career in a big meet perform like that is awesome!" Cary said. "It's going to be a fun season."

Nation is the first-ever AMC Runner of the Week for UHSP women's cross country.

The Eutectic team will next compete at the Larry Young Invitational hosted by Columbia University in Columbia, Mo., on Friday, Sept. 12.
