Eutectics compete in second fall event in Columbia
COLUMBIA, MO – The Eutectics ran in their second fall event and competed in the Larry Young Invitational hosted by the Columbia College Cougars. The UHSP women finished 11th out of the 11 teams in the field while the men saw only three runners compete, not fielding enough to qualify for a team score. The women's earned a score of 270, finishing 12 points behind Haskell Indian Nations.
WOMEN'S EVENT:
Hannah Nation had another tremendous finish for the Eutectics finishing 17th overall in the field. Nation, who has already been named AMC Runner of the Week earlier this month, ran a 21:27.1 in the 5K. Columbia's Hailey Gerard finished first overall at 18:44.2 to win the women's division. Ellie Creasey finished second for UHSP with a time of 23:20.5, ending in 57th place overall. Layla Aguilar and Karlea Frey were separated by 1:17.7 as they finished 97th and 102nd respectively. Aguilar ran a 30:59.4 while Frey finished at 32:17.1. Charlie Dunajcik finished 107th with a time of 38:09.6.
MEN'S EVENT:
William Kaempfe of UMSL won the men's event with a time of 25:33.4. Jack Wolfe was the best of the three Eutectic finishers at 32:05.4, just ahead of teammate Elliott Perry who was 07.1 seconds behind Wolfe. The pair finished 94th and 95th in the men's 8K. Amari Wiedemeier finished 113th clocking in at 35:34.0.
