Record-setting season comes to an end with AMC Semifinal loss to Columbia

COLUMBIA, MO – A record setting season for the Eutectics came to an end on Friday night in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Semifinals as 4-UHSP fell to 1-Columbia 7-0. The Cougars scored three goals in just under a 13-minute span early in the first to take a 3-0 lead, one they would take into halftime. Four second-half goals by the tournament's top seed would finish out the scoring as the Cougars advanced to the tournament championship game on Monday where they will face 3-Harris-Stowe.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

1-COLUMBIA 7, 4-UHSP 0

  • Columbia had five different goal scorers on the night with Georgia Pardalos and Madeleine Shylanski each scoring a pair for the Cougars. Those two went back-to-back with goals in the opening seven-plus-minutes of the second half to extend the CC lead to 5-0.
  • Susan Bradford (2-1) made five saves in net for UHSP taking the loss. Natalie Allison (10-4-2) picked up the win for Columbia between the pipes as she made five saves.
  • The Cougars outshot the Eutectics 25-11 with 12 of those being on goal for Columbia. UHSP had five shots on goal.
  • Izzy Rogers had five of the Eutectics' shots, four of which were on target.
  • Madeleine Shylanski recorded seven shots for Columbia. She tallied twice out of her three shots that were on goal.
  • The Eutectics finished out their winningest season ever in women's soccer history with a record of 9-5-1.
