Eutectics drop to 0-2 on 4-game new year's road trip
NASHVILLE, TN – The Eutectics played their second game in as many days in Tennessee and they finished up an 0-2 trip through the Volunteer State falling to the Fisk Bulldogs, 132-80. The Bulldogs got tremendous support off the bench as Kaleb Jeffries led all scorers with 32 points and Trenton Connolly added 20 as the pair combined to go 20-of-30 from the floor in the convincing win.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
FISK 132, UHSP 80
- The Bulldogs led 12-7 just over the first five minutes before going on a 18-4 run over the next six minutes to take a commanding lead 30-9. Fisk led 58-30 at the half.
- Fisk opened the second half by scoring 17 of the first 19 points over the first 4:14 of the half to go on top 75-32.
- Justin Coleman paced the Eutectics with a team-high 17 points going 8-of-12 from the field. He added six rebounds and three assists. Landon Engelage added 13 points.
- Fisk shot an incredible 66.3% from the floor in the game going 53-for-80. The Bulldogs made 20 more field goals than UHSP did as the Eutectics went 33-of-70 (47.1%).
- More than half of the Fisk's shots came from beyond the arc as they were 23-of-45 from the three-point line (51.1%). UHSP was 5-for-23 (21.7%) from the perimeter.
- The Eutectics turned it over only 15 times but the Bulldogs were even stingier as they committed just eight turnovers.
- The Bulldogs outrebounded UHSP by ten, 41-31. Fisk had 37 assists on their 53 made field goals.

UHSP (3-12, 0-2 AMC) will take a four-game skid into their third conference game of the season when they visit Crowley's Ridge (6-8, 0-1) at 7:30p on Thursday. After a road trip to Williams Baptist next Saturday, the Eutectics are back home on Thursday, January 15th when they host Hannibal-LaGrange.
